Who we are
FamilyIQ is provided by Babbitt & Babbitt Ltd, a controller based in the United Kingdom, for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can reach us at
privacy@familyiq.co.uk.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, password or sign-in identifier); household data you or other grown-ups add (household members' names and birthdays, calendar entries, tasks, chores, meals, activities, notes, bills, documents and photos you upload or forward); content of school emails you forward to us for processing; device and diagnostic data (device type, app version, crash/error logs, push token); and purchase/subscription status from the App Store or Stripe. We do not use cookies or trackers for advertising, and the app itself sets no third-party tracking or analytics cookies — only essential, functional storage needed to keep you signed in.
Children's data
FamilyIQ is designed for grown-ups to organise family life. Child profiles are created and managed entirely by a parent or guardian inside the household — children never self-register, and any child sign-in (username/PIN) is set up by a grown-up. Data about a child (name, birthday, schedule, school information) is treated as data submitted by the parent/guardian who added it, and can be edited or deleted by any adult in the household at any time.
How we use it
To run the household calendar, tasks, chores, meals and activities features you use; to parse forwarded school emails and documents into structured suggestions (dates, events, actions) using AI; to send you notifications and push alerts you've opted into; to process subscription payments; and to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with (processors)
We only share data with service providers who help us run FamilyIQ, under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing that service:
- Lovable Cloud — application hosting and our Postgres database.
- Lovable AI Gateway — routes AI requests (e.g. Google Gemini and OpenAI models) to extract dates/actions from documents you share; only the minimum content needed is sent, and it is not used to train third-party models.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications (APNs) and App Store purchase processing for iOS users.
- Google — Google sign-in, if you choose to use it.
- RevenueCat — manages and validates in-app subscription entitlements.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments made via our website.
- Capgo — delivers app content/code updates to the installed app; it does not receive your personal data.
- An email delivery provider — sends transactional emails (sign-in, invites, notifications).
No tracking, no selling
We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs, and we never sell your personal data.
Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account and household are active. Deleted accounts and households are removed, along with their associated calendar, task, document, and photo data, shortly after deletion (see below); some records (like billing receipts) may be retained longer where we're legally required to.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete my account. If you're the only grown-up in your household, this deletes the entire household and all of its data. If other grown-ups remain, ownership transfers to one of them and only your own membership and personal data are removed. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or erase your personal data, and to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app deletion tool or email us using the contact details below.
